MTY Food Group with Robert Leitz
Attracting bidders at 20%+ higher price!
Today, I’m sharing with you a podcast interview I did with Robert Leitz. We discuss MTY Food Group, which is listed in Toronto (click here for the TradingView Chart). The company’s stock has a c. 14% FCF yield and has recently been in the news as multiple bidders are looking to take it private (link).
I met Robert at VALUEx Klosters, an event organized by Guy Spier. (It’s next week and I’m looking forward to it). I always liked Robert because he speaks his mind, is honest, and as an investor has interesting ideas. In a world where everyone only seems to talk about Tesla and Nvidia, Robert is a breath of fresh air. He joined us recently in Cyprus for the 10th FatAlpha Value (Cyprus) Conference, where he presented MTY Food Group.
He is the Founder and Managing Director of iolite Capital. Before iolite, he held positions at Glencore (the world’s largest commodity trader) and various financial institutions, including TPG Credit, Goldman Sachs’ European Special Situations Group, and KPMG Corporate Restructuring. Robert graduated from the University of St. Gallen (HSG), Switzerland, with a Master of Science in Business Administration and Economics. Robert is a non-executive director of Opterion Health AG and a member of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), where he currently serves as the Finance Chair for the Zurich chapter.

FYI, my next in-person event is in Vietnam in March. At the in-person events I organise, everyone must pitch an idea, so please don’t apply if you aren’t willing to share. For those people who only want to listen, I’ll be putting together an online event in October/November, so subscribe so you don’t miss the info.
